The Design Museum, Kensington

Construction, Installation

The pavilion for the grounds of the new Design Museum in Kensington was commissioned as part of the annual Designers in Residence programme, designed by Clementine Blakemore.

Developed in response to the theme, Open, the timber frame of the pavilion was constructed by a multidisciplinary team from the Royal College of Art. The hyperbolic paraboloid structure references the iconic roof of the original Commonwealth Institute building, and was constructed and documented over a week in November 2016.
